In addition to the judging manual, the World Tang Soo Do Association provides additional supplemental materials to educate those wishing to become certified as judges or scorekeepers/timekeepers, and prepare them to take both the written test and practical test. Requirements
Age and Rank
Timekeeper/Scorekeeper – 16 Years Old and 5th Gup or Higher OR 14 Years Old and Cho Dan Bo or Higher
Corner Judge – 16 Years Old and Cho Dan Bo or Higher (Cho Dan Bo’s may become certified; however, they may not begin judging until Cho Dan)
Regional Center Judge – 18 Years Old and Cho Dan
International Center Judge – 18 Years Old and E Dan
Experience
Timekeeper/Scorekeeper – No experience needed
Corner Judge – Having been a Certified scorekeeper with documented experience of at least 1 championship
Regional Center Judge – Having been a Certified Corner Judge with documented experience of at least 2-3 Championships
International Center Judge – Having been a Certified Regional Center with documented experience as a Center Judge AND documented judging experience at a World Championship
Training Opportunities
Region 5 Judging Certification training and practical tests will be held at the following events with the written test occurring 2 weeks prior. The written test must be taken and passed to participate in the training and practical test.

Recertification
Recertification must be done every 5 years. It is the Individual’s responsibility to know when they are required to recertify.
